The children have just finished their first week and it was great! They spent much of their time getting familiar with each other and the work in the classroom. They focused on how to walk with the work trays and roll-up their rugs. In true Montessori fashion, older students helped the newer students walk, not run, between the classrooms, where to put their lunch boxes when they were finished, and quietly sit with their legs crossed on the line. Also in true Montessori form, the new students showed the older ones, just the same, just as well 🙂
Much of our focus in the first month will be relationships with each other and their environment here. That being said, our posts this month will include some basic information for our non-profit school. Later, when we get into detailed lessons, these posts will help you communicate with your child about what they are learning.
Mark your calendars: PARENT ORIENTATION will be held on Tuesday, September 9th at 6 PM here at the school. Child care will not be provided so we do ask that you make alternative arrangements for your children. This should last no longer than one hour and it is important that at least one parent attend.
Mesa Montessori participates in retail programs with Bashas, Fry’s, Albertsons, Target, Amazon, and Safeway. If these are merchants that you frequent, ask us how you can help our school earn funds easily.
We hope you have a great first weekend and see you next week!
